I joined the Naval Reserves in 1951, while attending St. Michael's. I was called to active duty in Feb. 1954, the Korean era, and served as a radio operator in a patrol squadron. Mustered out in 1957 and got a job with Public Service E. and G. as a lineman.
In 1958 I married my wife Joan, who graduated nursing school from J.C. Medical Center. We moved to West Milford, N.J. to build a house and start a family. In 1970, after 4 children, 2 boys and 2 girls, we decided it was time to move to a more favorable climate like Florida. I worked as a lineman in Leesburg, Fl. for 2 years before going back to school in Jacksonville to become a Radiologic Technologist which was quite a drastic career change. After 22 years in hospitals I retired in 1994. Joan is also now retiring and we enjoy living in Ponte Vedra Beach with its amenities, walking, jogging and kayaking the many waterways in the area.
I would like to congratulate the organizers of our 50th Reunion. They did a fabulous job and everyone really enjoyed themselves. Just sorry I can't make the monthly meetings.
The memories of my years at St. Michael's, are among the most cherished times of my life.
